Welcome!

I have built this website to highlight my work.

I am passionate about research and evaluation in the fields of health, education and social justice. I view research and evaluation as tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our programs and policies.

I have had the privilege to conduct evaluations alongside health, education and social justice community agencies. From my experience working in these areas, I’m aware of the importance of including program beneficiaries in research and evaluation efforts. Relatedly, I have an interest in how to involve program beneficiaries, particularly youth, in participatory and collaborative research and evaluation and the strengths and benefits associated with their involvement.

I derive motivation from the work of evaluation scholars who conduct research on program evaluation. Their work informs evaluators about the feasibility and effectiveness of using particular evaluation approaches in various contexts.

As an emerging evaluation scholar, I am interested in participatory and collaborative evaluation approaches as they focus on engaging stakeholders in the design, data collection, interpretation, and reporting of evaluation projects. In such instances, trained evaluators work in partnership with stakeholders throughout the evaluation process. Consequently, participatory and collaborative evaluation approaches encourage problem-solving, social justice, and the creation of representative knowledge. Given stakeholders’ unique knowledge about their programs, they have much to offer evaluation processes, including necessary program improvements and key areas of inquiry.

My teaching methods also align with participatory and collaborative philosophies. When training students and junior analysts on research methods (i.e., qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods), evaluation or social policy, I involve students in both the development and implementation of the curriculum.
